Description

We offer natural rosemary hydrolate for cosmetics, obtained from the species Rosmarinus officinalis. It is known as Rosemary natural hydrolate for cosmetics. The raw material comes from the aerial stalk, and the peltate glandular trichomes on it take up the volatile fraction in their extensive secretory cavity on the leaf surface. Capitate glandular and non-glandular trichomes also occur on the leaves and complement the structure of the aerial plant tissue. The species is classified in the Lamiaceae family, in which the aerial mass remains the main carrier of the scent, while the roots play no such role in it. Steam distillation determines the clean olfactory profile, as the aqueous medium takes up only the light soluble constituents of the raw material. The aroma comes strongly to the fore, carries a slight spiciness and ends with a bitter nuance that lingers longer. The color of the distillate starts from colorless and reaches at most a faint pink tint. The faint tint suggests a scant amount of coloring substances. The plants grow in Bulgaria, and the plantations receive natural care and remain free of chemical agents against pests or synthetic fertilizers in the soil. Natural cultivation keeps the stalk free of residues of foreign substances, which is why the olfactory picture comes only from the plant material of the plantations itself. Preservatives and colorants have no place in this liquid. Cineole, pinene and camphor are the most frequently described constituents, joined by camphene and borneol. The spicy line starts from these compounds, while the bitter side appears in the back part of the perception. The stalk origin determines the dry direction of the scent. Rosemary remains the sole source of this scent.
